First day results were a mixed bag for SPW swimmers with Ryan Napoleon and Bronte Barratt having an off day and missing the finals of the 400 Free. Yolane Kukla helped the 4x100 Free relay team make the finals but unfortunately the girls finished 5th with Bronte being in the final team.
Stephanie Rice was 8th fastest in the morning heats of the 200 IM and in the semis last night qualified fastest and will battle with fellow Aussie Alicia Coutts and World Champ Ariana Kukors of the USA.
In the heats this morning Day 2, Kenrick Monk will be trying hard to make the semis for the 200 Free and will be along side training partner Tae Hwan Park. Congratulations to Park on his Gold in the 400 Free on the first night, a great swim from Lane 1 to beat his Chinese rival Yang Sun by over 1 second.
Good Luck tonight Stephanie in the final of the 200IM and hopefully Kenrick and Tae Hwan will make the semis for the 200 Free.
