Four SPW Swimmers have been named Age All Stars and Youth All Stars from last week’s 2010 Australian Age Championships in Sydney. Congratulations to:
- Madeline Groves, 14yrs
- Yolane Kukla, 14yrs
- Madison Wilson, 14yrs
- Mitch Larkin, 16yrs
Additionally, some SPW swimmers have been identified as some Australia’s best junior swimming talent and attended training at the AIS in Canberra this week for a four-day camp to foster junior talent:
- Mitch Larkin, 16yrs
- Ned McKendry, 17yrs
- Tess David, 14yrs
- Madeline Groves, 14yrs
- Madison Wilson, 14yrs
These swimmers were selected for the camp based on performances from respective 2010 State Championships, the Telstra Australian Swimming Championships and National Age Championships.
The rationale behind the camp was to introduce athletes to biomechanical testing elements such as filming and wet plate testing as well as dedicated recovery and skills sessions.
The camp is a valuable introduction to life on the Telstra Dolphins Australian Swimming Team, ahead of upcoming junior representative events later this year.
