26/06/09 St Peters Western Swim Club Trophy Night and Annual General Meeting
26/6/09: SPW’S trophy Night and AGM will be held 4th July 2009, 6:30 pm in the P&F Centre at SPLC, near the 50m pool. All welcome! Children will be supervised in the gym while the AGM is on. Following the AGM, we will have a Trophy presentation with food/drink. $10 per person, $25/ family. Please pay at the door.

XLII Santa Clara Invitation Meet, 11th - 14th June 2009
15/6/09: Final day success in Santa Clara! Congratulations to all SPW members on a successful meet. On the final day:
It’s dual Bronze for SPW in the 200 IM with Stephanie Rice (2:12.84) and Stephen Parkes (2:03.90).
Meagen Nay has won Silver in the 200 back (2:08.61), and Ryan Napolean has won Bronze in the 1500 free (15:66.66).
Stephanie Rice and Meagen Nay won the Gold in the 400 medley relay (4:04.97) with teammates Leisel Jones and Belinda Parslow.
Kenrick Monk won Gold in the 400 medley relay (3:39.48) with teammates Ashley Delaney, Brenton Rickard and Sam Ashby.
14/6/09: SPW continues to swim well in Santa Clara, and wins more medals for Australia!
Meagen Nay has won Silver in the 200 free (1:59.31). Meagen and Stephanie Rice have won Gold in the 800 free relay (8:02.49) with teammates Katie Goldman and Belinda Parslow.
13/6/09: Meagen Nay has won Gold in the 400 free (4:08.74) and Bronze in the 100 free (55.65). Meagen and Stephanie Rice have won Silver in the 400 free relay (3:47.54) with teammates Katie Goldman and Belinda Parslow.
Kenrick Monk has won Bronze in the 400 free relay (3:20.12) with teammates Tom Miller, Lloyd Townsing and Nicholas Ffrost.

SPW swimmers are putting on a show at the Southwest Classic Invitational Meet, Tucson Arizona
8/6/09: SPW continued their strong performance in Tucson to complete the meet with several more medals at the Southwest Classic Invitational.
Stephanie Rice cruised in the 400 IM to win the gold medal in 4:42.88. Meagen Nay won Silver in the 50m free in 26.07. Steph and Meagen won the 400 medley relay in 4:06.55 with Belinda Parslow and Leisel Jones.
Stephen Parkes won the Bronze in the 400 IM in 4:29.33. Kenrick Monk won the 400 medley relay in 3:39.45 with teammates Ashley Delaney, Brenton Rickard, and Nicholas Ffrost. Ryan Napolean’s team won the Bronze in 3:45.91.
7/6/09: SPW continues to shine in Tucson and wins more medals! Meagen Nay has she added another three gold medals to her haul, to make a total of 6 GOLDS!
Australia went 1-2 in the women's 200 free with Meagen in first place in 1:59.25, while Stephanie Rice placed second in 2:01.31. Meagen won the 100 back in 1:01.61, and Steph won the 200 IM in 2:15.54. Steph and Meagen won the 800 free relay in 8:15.94, along with Belinda Parslow and Katie Goldman.
Kenrick Monk won the 200 free in 1:49.10, and Ryan Napolean came 3rd in 1:49.52. Australia took the first 5 places in that event. Kenrick was also part of the 800 free relay winning team in 7:20.55, along with Patrick Murphy, Robert Hurley and Nicholas Ffrost. Ryan’s team won the Bronze (7:28.39). Stephen Parkes claimed Silver in the 200 IM in 2:05.04.
6/6/09: Meagen Nay has won 3 Gold medals! Meagen first won the women's 100 free title by more than a second with a top time of 55.50. She doubled up with a commanding victory in the women's 200 back, in 2:11.64. Meagen (together with Zoe Johnson, Belinda Parslow, Katie Goldman) won the women's 400 free relay in 3:47.18.
Stephanie Rice led an Australian 1-2 finish in the women's 400 free in 4:14.57, cutting more than 15 seconds from her prelim time.
For the men, Kenrick Monk took third in the men's 100 free in 50.05. Kenrick also took out the Silver in the 400m free relay in 3:21.57 with team mates Tom Miller, Lloyd Townsing and Nicholas Ffrost. Meanwhile, Ryan Napoleon claimed third in the men's 400 free in 3:52.39.
10/5/09: Congratulations to Meagen Nay for setting a new Commonwealth and Australian record for the 200m Backstroke in a time of 2:07.41 at the Duel in the Pool competition in Sydney. Well done!

SPW is the hottest club in swimming in Australia, and home of swimming sensation Stephanie Rice, Olympic Champion and triple World Record Holder. Stephanie's achievements include:

Head Coach Michael Bohl is the 2008 Australian Coach of the Year. Formerly Queensland Director of Coaching for 11 years, Michael holds a Platinum Licence qualification for swimming coaching. During his time with Queensland Swimming, Michael has been an Olympic coach for:
· Stephanie Rice (3 x Gold medals at Olympic Games in Beijing and triple World Record holder, 2 x Gold medals at 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, 2 x Bronze medals at 2007 FINA World Titles)
· Glen Housman (Olympic medallist)
· Nicholas Sprenger (Olympic Silver Medallist for 4 x 200m Freestyle relay at Athens, and Semi-finalist in 200m Freestyle at Beijing)
· Meagen Nay (200m Backstroke Olympic Finalist in Beijing, Australian & Commonwealth Record holder)
· Maxine Seear (Olympic Triathlon competitor, Athens).

Michael also has world class Open Water swimmers under his guidance:
· Brendan Capell (Gold medal in 25 km World Open Water Championships in 2004, and Silver medal in 2005)
· Josh Santacaterina (Gold at 25 km World Open Water Championships 2006).
· Other open water swimmers who have also achieved at high levels are Trudee Hutchinson and David Browne.
Not to be left out are the junior swimmers who are also achieving at high levels at both State and Australian Titles. St Peters Western took its largest team ever to the 2009 National Age Championships, and finished in second place in the overall point score. Swimmers won 17 Gold medals, 8 Silver and 5 Bronze, and Yolane Kukla and Tess David broke Australian records. Yolane Kukla was selected in the Australian All-Stars team. SPW expects many years of success ahead given the high calibre of young swimmers coming through the ranks.
