SPW welcome Rebecca Adlington
St Peters Western welcomes Britain's Rebecca Adlington to the squad for a 6 week training stint.
Rebecca won two Gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics in the 400m and 800m freestyle, the first British swimmer to do this in more than 100 years.
Not being used to training in a 50 metre pool, Rebecca found the first week tough with the SPW squad, but now she is settling in and getting to know our swimmers. She's even been playing touch football.
The Aussie climate will be a welcome escape from the cold and frosty winter that Rebecca is used to.
Welcome Rebecca, we hope you enjoy your time in Australia and at SPW.

Age Group Coach of the Year
Congratulations to Michael Palfery, SPW's Assistant Coach, who was named as “The Age Group Coach of the Year” at the 2010 Telstra Swimmer of the Year Awards last night.
Mick is a very dedicated, enthusiastic coach, and we are very proud of and lucky to have Mick at St Peters Western.
He has done an outstanding job with our youngsters. It’s particularly impressive that Mick has been able to coach young 15 year old Yolane Kukla to being a Commonwealth Games Gold medallist. Mick is able to boast the achievements of several SPW swimmers who are Australian Age Champions and Australian and Queensland record holders.
